Loss of passion for food? No way! That's prolly gonna be the last thing I'd ever do in my life.
Life has been a bit difficult for me recently as one of my cats, Puccini, passed away last month, and I still need time to get used to a life that's without him around. But the worst hard time of mine has gone, and, I believe that he's gone up to somewhere better than where we are now.
Okay, enough sentimental talks!
This blog post is an ode to my old boss, who took me to La Piazzetta for a fab birthday lunch treat last February (wot? last Feb? wow, Kenny you're lagging behind!). I was wooed by the food presentation there, and the pasta dishes were simply impressive! Grazie mille signora Donati!

We chose a table outdoors coz the weather was nice and sunny that day, albeit a bit cold.

Snack - Tomato and Rosemary Pizza (Thin Crust)

Pomodori e Mozzarella (Tomato and Mozzarella Salad)

Misto Salumi (Assorted Cold-cuts)

Super Marinara (Pasta with Assorted Seafood - jumbo size)

This is one GIANT dish! Look at that "plate"! It's actually a real shell!

The pasta was cooked al dente and served with varieties of fresh seafood, such as prawns, clams, mantis shrimps, scallops, etc., in a simple tomato based sauce, om nom nom nom, DIVINE!

Linguine alla Balzanella (Linguine with Sundried Tomatoes and Basil)

This linguine was my favourite that day. Simple and beautiful!

The friendly server was mixing the sea urchin sauce in front of us. What is this sauce for?

Would you like to have a taste, Sir? Oh certainly, hmm, a bit more salt and pepper, ah! and one more dash of lemon juice please! Tks!

Ta-da, the sauce is for this pasta dish - Spaghetti alla Polpa di Riccio (Spaghetti Sea Urchin)

Tagliata alla Florentina (Grilled Slices of Fillet Steak) - I don't eat beef but my colleagues said the fillet steak was a bit over cooked and tough.

Branzino Cartoccio (Baked Seabass)

Tiramisu

Hey Kenny,
Thanks for the invitation! I would love to meet up with you, but my friend already set the itinerary...I've asked her if she wanted to meet up, but she's a bit shy with stranger, lol. Thanks for asking though...Spicy crab sounds amazing! Though...we're kind of on a tight budget because I went crazy with the shopping! haha!

Welcome back Kenny! I miss reading your English blogs. Don't feel bad about writing about Feb, I have some things I still haven't written about since last year (you know how I procrastinate)! And that is some serious seafood dish, can't believe the size of those mollusks! And the sea urchin spaghetti is making me drool.
Kenny, take care.
